Founded in 1961, the Helios distillery on Okinawa is the oldest rum distillery in Japan. Teeda is a five-year-old rum made from molasses from locally grown sugar cane. A three-week fermentation process is followed by distillation in copper pot stills and maturation for at least five years in new American oak barrels.
