Luis XIV Vermouth

ape-lui

The “Colección de Toneles Centenarios” winery is based on an extraordinary find: the barrel room of a 14th century winery that had been forgotten since the 1960s. The commitment that ensued is clear: to remain true to the winemaking tradition of Alicante. The importance of this southern Spanish wine-growing region is measured not least by the fact that Alicante received the world’s first protected designation of origin in 1510, when the king issued a ban on the import of wine into the province. Alicante wines were consumed by European royalty, including King Louis XIV of France.

Vermut Luis XIV is a red vermouth, soft and aromatic. It is made from Monastrell wines that mature in centuries-old barrels. Cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and orange peel are also added. A very Mediterranean vermouth, with pleasant spicy flavours, a medium sweetness and a long, lingering finish. With no added colourings.
