Etsu Japanese Gin

The Asahikawa distillery is located on the island of Hokkaido in northern Japan, famous for its unspoilt wilderness and culinary riches. The nearby Taisetsu mountain provides exceptionally pure water, which lends freshness and delicacy to the recipes.

The distillery attaches particular importance to detail, careful work and respect for nature. Etsu The Original is an artisan gin that has been created from an ancient recipe. The Japanese word “Etsu” roughly means “pleasure”. Before distillation, juniper berries, liquorice roots and coriander seeds, angelica, Japanese yuzu and bitter orange peel are macerated in sugar cane alcohol for 22 hours. Distilled in a copper pot still, the gin is then refined from 83 to 43 degrees.

Etsu The Original Gin offers floral and citrusy notes. Fresh, round and harmonious, it is ideal on its own, in cocktails or with tonic. Etsu The Original embodies the elegance and authenticity of Japanese gin to perfection.
